COLUMBIA LAW SCHOOL LATINO/A LAW STUDENTS ASSOCIATION
CLS LaLSA strives to promote understanding of the Latino community by sponsoring academic, professional, cultural, social, and community service activities for our members as well as Columbia Law School's general student body.
We are committed to advancing our members' goals by serving as a liaison between them and the Columbia Law School administration, the general student body, alumni, and other professionals in the legal field.
We welcome all Columbia Law School students, faculty, and alumni to participate in our group.
FIRST ANNUAL ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
In an effort to connect CLS LaLSA members of the past and present, this year CLS LaLSA will publish its first annual alumni newsletter. The digital publication will update members on the past year's events, and highlight their accomplishments.
On October 20, 2017, we celebrated our 13th Annual Awards Banquet at the Columbia Club of New York. This year we honored three notable alumni. Ricardo “Rick” Martinez (CLS ’98), Partner at Hogan Lovells, and United States District Judge Analisa Torres (CLS ’84) of the Southern District of New York, received a Distinguished Alumnus and Alumna Award respectively. Alida Garcia (CLS ’08), director of coalitions and policy at FWD.us, received the Rising Star Award. Thank you to all who attended our event, as well as those who sponsored it.
